VT Barn Wedding… 
Caroline and Jake had a beautiful wedding at Levity Mountain, a picturesque venue in Manchester, Vermont. They met as graduate students at MIT, and prior to the big day I drove to Cambridge for a pre-wedding photoshoot on campus, which you may see here.
When their wedding day arrived I met with them individually as they were getting ready in separate houses at the mountainside venue. They had a first look then went on a brief walk with the Vermont mountain range in the distance. We then walked through a path in the woods to their ceremony site where I photographed them, their families, and their wedding party with the mountains in the background.
Guests then began taking their seats. Their friend who officiated had everyone take as many selfies as they could in 30 seconds, then asked that they all put their phones away for the duration of the ceremony. Jake and his parents walked out from the path in the woods, followed by the wedding party, and finally Caroline and her parents, who each walked down the aisle in turn.
Speeches were said, vows were read, and rings were exchanged. After their fist kiss Caroline and Jake recessed down the aisle as guest tossed biodegradable confetti into the air around them. We all then made our way back through the woods to the barn for their cocktail hour and reception.
After dinner there were two toasts, then Caroline and Jake had their first dance. This led directly into open dancing and the floor of the barn shook with the energy of nearly everyone making their way onto the dance floor.
As it was nearing time for me to wrap up my coverage I asked Caroline and Jake if I could take them outside for a couple of creative portraits. They still wanted to dance but seemed happy for the breather. I quickly set up a coupe of off camera lights, gelled one of them, then made a handful of portraits of them next to the side of the barn.
