"I didn’t originally set out to be a wedding photographer. In fact, for the first 15 years of my career I intentionally avoided this path, instead telling stories as a freelance photojournalist. At the time, my issue with photographing weddings was what I saw as the formulaic nature of the field. Everyone was posed. Everything was over-scheduled.

This is not the way to capture real moments or authenticity, nor to evoke feeling when people see the photographs years later.

I had no interest in taking those kinds of uninspired pictures. I still don’t. But when the people in my friend group began to get married and wanted me to document their day, I decided to give it a try. Those early experiences ignited a spark that continues to this day.

My experience as a photojournalist brought out and honed my documentarian and storytelling nature. I’m skilled in the art of being in the right place at the right time, and I use this experience and the techniques I’ve learned to tell the story of a wedding day.

I finally accepted an offer to photograph a friend’s wedding, and it was more creative and fun than I anticipated. I discovered that you can take meaningful photographs at a wedding, without posing anyone, or pulling a couple away from the party.

I learned that a wedding is just like any other story. What it needs is a good storyteller."

<p>I've always found joy in capturing the raw, authentic moments of weddings. Jenna and Alex's nuptials at Union Station in Northampton, MA were no exception. The historic train station, repurposed as a wedding venue, was a charming backdrop for the couple's low-key Harry Potter details. Jenna's gold wedding dress, symbolic of the Golden Snitch which Alex caught, was one creative touch that made their wedding unique.</p>

<p>The venue was a place filled with character and history, and it was here that Jenna and Alex decided to write the first chapter of their married life. The old train station, with its beautiful architecture and timeless feel, was transformed into a magical world where love was the main conductor.</p>

<p>What made this wedding even more special was the light dusting of snow that started to fall as their day began. There was just enough to add a touch of magic to the scene without causing any disruption. The couple had always wanted pretty outdoor portraits, and the snow provided a perfect backdrop. The soft white flakes that clung to the brickwork of Union Station made for a truly enchanting setting.</p>

<p>As I moved around the venue capturing moments, I could see how the day was a reflection of Jenna and Alex themselves - elegant, fun, and full of love. The joy and excitement of their friends and family were palpable, and I was honored to document these genuine moments.</p>
