Misty Meadows Farm Wedding >
Megan + Chad started dating after high school though have known each other since the second grade. Being the easy going and non-traditional couple they described themselves as being, Chad proposed while Megan sat on the couch one evening after work. That easy going way of being with each other held true on their wedding day at Misty Meadows Farm as well.
We began their day with a first look amongst the trees in the venue’s apple orchard, which was also where we took the family photos immediately afterward. Guests began arriving and filed past a barn where horses poked their heads out to see, one presumes, what all the people were doing outside their house. A short path led to a field lined with more apple trees where the ceremony was held.
There were some beautiful details in and around the tent where the reception was held. Wooden signs with hand painted directions told guests where each part of the day was held, and understated but beautiful flower arrangements lined the long tables where guests sat. The catering company set up their own nearby tents and cooked amazing food for everyone while some gathered around the firepit and smoked cigars. S’mores made their debut later in the evening as the fire lit up that part of the field once the sun set.
In what was a first for me, the bride’s mother surprised the couple by having an ice cream truck drive into the field, which Megan + Chad climbed into and served their guests from the menu on the side of the truck.
