Millwright’s Restaurant Wedding…
Jessica + Mike had an intimate wedding day with their closest family in attendance. I had met them a year prior and photographed their engagement session, which you may view here, so it was like a reunion when their wedding day finally arrived.
We began their day with them both getting ready in different rooms at the nearby Simsbury Inn. We then drove to Millwright’s and set them up for a first look on a path behind the venue. Jessica walked up to Mike and tapped him on the shoulder, and their had their moment. Walking back to the venue they held hands and laughed.
When it came time for the ceremony, Jessica was escorted by her father. They entered the venue’s second floor area via elevator, and had a short walk to where the guests were seated. Mike was waiting for her at the end of the aisle and they were married in front of a picturesque view through the windows behind them.
During the cocktail hour they chatted with their guests and cut their cake. Everyone then moved to the venue’s first floor for dinner, which was held on an enclosed bridge that spanned the river beneath the restaurant. After three toasts dinner was served, after which Jessica + Mike had their first dance. This was followed by Jessica having a father-daughter dance and Mike having a mother-son dance.
As the evening was winding down we set up some lights outside and made a few portraits of them by the river and on the path. We did so quickly as it had gotten cold out, and we were all wanting to get back inside. The results were worth it, though.
