Log Cabin Wedding…
Lingjiao + Emily were engaged in early 2020 and had their wedding on a beautiful late summer day at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.
Emily got into her dress in the Log Cabin’s bridal suite while Lingjiao arrived in advance of their first look. He was warmly greeted in the lobby by his father before taking his position outside. Emily walked up behind him and they saw each other for the first time that day all dressed up for their wedding. Several family members watched from behind the ballroom’s windows while Emily’s father flew his drone overhead.
They and their their parents then participated in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, after which we made portraits of both families and their wedding party.
Their emotional ceremony was held outside and overlooked the valley beyond the Log Cabin’s property. At the conclusion of the ceremony Lingjiao wielded a saber and sliced off the top of a champagne bottle to the delight of their guests.
Once inside the ballroom Lingjiao + Emily were introduced and had their first dance, followed by toasts by both sets of parents. After dinner they cut their cake and then it was sunset. We went back outside for some portraits of the two of them with just a little bit of light from the sun still lighting up the sky.
Emily then changed her dress into something more appropriate for the hours of dancing that followed.
