Log Cabin Wedding >
Heather + Greg were married at the Log Cabin in Holyoke where they had their first look, ceremony, and reception. They met at work where they were first friends, and were together for two years before they got engaged.
Their wedding day began at the D Hotel where they each got ready. While they did so in different rooms, they as well as their wedding party took the same shuttle to the Log Cabin. It was there that Heather put her wedding dress on for her first look with Greg. Because they did a first look we were able to do wedding party photos prior to the ceremony, finishing the family formals afterward.
The view at the Log Cabin didn’t disappoint with a ceremony site that overlooks the valley. There were dramatic clouds in the sky that gave everything an even, diffuse light that was great to photograph by. After being introduced into the reception, Heather + Greg had their first dance and were then toasted by close friends.
When sunset arrived we went outside to take advantage of the warm light, and made some portraits while the sun faded below the horizon. They then went back inside and, along with their friends and family, danced until the lights came up.
Heather + Greg had an idea for a portrait we made happen after the reception had ended. Because she and Greg met working for public transportation and also because school busses were shuttling guests back to the hotel, they wanted to get their hands dirty under the hood of the bus. While we stopped short of putting grease and oil on them, Heather climbed a ladder and got into the engine with the biggest wrench I’ve ever seen, while Greg stood behind her looking up something on his phone. It was fun to set up and light such a specific idea.
