Allie + Starr first met while in high school but began their love story more recently. They became engaged when Starr proposed to Allie on the ferris wheel at the Big E, and not too far afterward I was honored to be photographing their wedding.
Getting to know Allie + Starr and corresponding with them leading up to the big day, including having them generously model for me during a stylized shoot at Smith, I knew theirs was going to be a unique and memorable wedding. From a great dress and a great suit, to all kinds of great details and distinctive personal touches (I hadn’t seen a garter/flask combo until then), Allie + Starr’s wedding was unforgettable.
Allie + Starr exchanged gifts earlier in the day while getting ready at the Hotel Northampton, and each took their own limo to the Pines Theater at Look Park for their ceremony. There’s was some involved coordination by their friends to make sure neither saw the other prior to the ceremony, but it all worked out fine. At the conclusion of the ceremony we did a few portraits in front of the ivy covered entrance and then made our way to the Garden House for the reception.
As a photographer I’m usually attuned to the personalities of the people I’m working with and the people they choose to have around them on a wedding day. Allie + Starr’s wedding party was not only super nice, but I’m relatively certain I’m in the background of more selfies taken in a single day than likely the rest of the wedding season.
