Boston Children’s Museum Wedding >
When we first met, Christine + Matt told me “we don’t want a cookie cutter wedding”, and with their ceremony in an immense cathedral in Boston and a ceremony at the Boston Children’s Museum they certainly got their wish.
Having met as civil engineering students at Northeastern they were already familiar with the city and how amazing it would be as a backdrop to a Boston wedding. A few years later they went hiking to the top of Mount Monadnock where Matt had hidden Christine’s engagement ring in a backpack, which she almost found when she tried to put her phone away. The proposal went well in the end and their wedding was soon to follow.
We began at Boston’s Langham Hotel where they separately prepared for the day, after which we were off to the ceremony at Boston’s Cathedral of the Holy Cross. From there we drove to Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park for family formals and spent some time making portraits of their wedding party and then with just the two of them. Some of the wedding party were a little hungry by then and thankfully there were hotdog vendors in the park, which Christine + Matt got to enjoy as well.
We all then returned to the Langham Hotel to relax before Christine + Matt took the hotel’s pink London-style taxi to their reception at the Boston Children’s Museum.
Matt then surprised Christine during their first dance when he whispered their surprise honeymoon destination into her ear. The night continued on with heartfelt toasts by friends and family, and much dancing that went on through the end of the night.
At the reception’s conclusion Christine + Matt exited the Boston Children’s Museum through an aisle of their loved ones holding sparklers into the air on the harbor walk with the Boston skyline in the background.
