Janet and Marge are an inspirationally upbeat couple who laughed and smiled with their friends the whole time I was with them. They’ve been together for 17 years, and being residents of a state that doesn’t yet recognize gay and lesbian weddings they traveled to Massachusetts to legally marry.
Joined by 12 of their closest friends we spent a few hours together at Mount Holyoke College for their ceremony and portraits, both within Abbey Chapel and walking around the campus. A life-sized cardboard cutout of Mount Holyoke founder Mary Lyon was brought in as an additional guest with whom everyone also posed for portraits with.
