Ruth + David were married at the Carriage House at the Barney Estate within Springfield’s Forest Park.

They met seven years ago when they were both working at the Post Office, and were later engaged for a year before their walk down the aisle. David proposed in their kitchen at home, to Ruth’s surprise, before heading out for a celebratory dinner at the Whately Inn.

Their wedding day began with some low key getting ready, and before everyone knew it they were walking toward the Carriage House’s gazebo for their ceremony. Ruth’s two sons walked her down the aisle, and David’s brother served as his Best Man. After the ceremony we made some sunset portraits and did a few family portraits as well.

Once inside after the cocktail hour, their introductions were followed by Ruth + David’s first dance, a blessing, and two heartfelt toasts. We later made some time to head outside and make a few nighttime portraits of just the two of them. Everyone was in great spirits as the night went on, and their guests danced until the end of the night.
