Quabbin Reservoir Wedding >
Nicole + Garrett went full speed ahead with their plans and braved the rain with a beautiful ceremony atop the mountain at Quabbin Reservoir in Ware.
The happy couple had known of each other since they were 10, but four and a half years ago they ran into each other at a Starbucks, exchanged numbers, and began dating. That led to a romance that culminated in their recent intimate wedding with a spectacular view.
Garrett and their guests arrived first on a party bus and waited inside the tower that overlooked the reservoir. As Nicole was being driven to the ceremony site by her mother, she and Garrett communicated by phone so he wouldn’t see her until she was ready to walk around the building and into the field for their ceremony. Their kids, who were also the flowergirl and ringbearer, ran messages between both sides of the tower to help coordinate them.
While their guests lined up on the grass along what would be the aisle, under umbrellas as needed, first the kids and then Nicole and her father rounded the corner and walked down the short hill to toward Garrett who was waiting for them.
Their ceremony incorporated their children as well, and they each poured colored sand into a central vessel during the sand ceremony. Seemingly quickly, the ceremony drew to a close with Nicole + Garrett’s first kiss and they, along with their children, walked back up the hill, all holding hands.
The rain and fog had mostly lifted by then and we took some family portraits with the reservoir in the background. We finished up their coverage with some portraits of the two of them in the adjoining field, in the doorway of the tower, and at another location just down the road with a more epic view of the reservoir.
